Xtreme LED NIR Add-on

This add-on adds two independently controllable colors of light to the spectrum of the parent fixture.

  • Far-red (700‑750nm), sometimes called NIR, IR-A, or just IR and
  • UV-A (350‑400nm) light

Benefits

Far-red 1) Stretching plants in the growing phase with extra far-red
2) Growing very compact initially (far-red off) and when switching to the flowering phase, the synergetic effect of the extra far-red can be exploited
3) Accelerate the nighttime metabolism and the sleep rhythm to accelerate flower setting and possibly shorten the night and lengthen the day for more photosynthesis (higher DLI)
UV‑A1) The plant will generate more terpenes
2) Increases resistance to bacteria and other pathogens
3) Makes the plant stronger and healthier. The leaves will become darker green
4) Adds extra photons, resulting in more photosynthesis and more yield

Local control of add-ons via the parent fixture is not yet supported. They can, however, be controlled stand-alone. For this, only daisy-chain the power cord, but leave both Smartports unconnected. ⮕ Consult the add-on manual for operating instructions.

When the parent fixture is controlled by a Maxi Controller or Smart Controller, the extra channels will automatically be relayed to the add-on(s).

For the Maxi Controller, a setting must be changed to output add-on signals (⮕ See chapter Chaining Fixtures, section New Maxi Controller).
